You know, I love rain. It seems to be a somewhat unusual characteristic of mine. Most people seem to feel their spirits lifted by a brilliantly sunny day. I, however, love gray skies and drizzle. And thunderstorms make me very happy. Strange, I know.
But even I have had enough rain for one week. Since Friday morning, our rain gauge has measured 6.63 inches of rain. For North Texas, that's several months worth of rain in one go. And it is still raining.
At least it has been, for the most part, a lovely gentle rain. I spent most of the weekend very contentedly curled up with a book, a cup of tea by my side. Heaven! But this morning the newspapers are full of stories of people evacuating their homes and being caught in floodwaters. Enough is enough!
