The Trinity Valley Quilt Guild Quilt Show...

...is this weekend, September 28, 29, 30, at the Amon Carter Exhibit Hall in Fort Worth, Texas.  It's a wonderful show, full of many beautiful quilts (about 250), including my quilt, Resonance, which took first place in the art quilt category.  Come and see it!

I'm (We're) in Quilting Arts!

In the latest issue of Quilting Arts (October/November 2012) Lynn Krawczyk has written an article called "Start Your Own Fiber Art Group."  My friend Jay sent Lynn the information about our fiber art group, studioQ, and we are included in the article!  We are featured on page 74.

Whooo hooo!

New Work

Big Figure #9, 62" x 70"
I just finished quilting Big Figure #9, which my friend Kyra has subtitled "A Window on Mars."  The Big Figure series is evolving, becoming a little more complex.  The last two have featured a simple configuration laid on top of a pieced background.

I think I like the direction this series is taking me....

Cape Cod 2012

I love Cape Cod.  Every September we spend a week with my father-in-law at his summer home in Eastham.  And after we return to Texas, I wait impatiently to go back to the Cape again.

Sunset at First Encounter Beach, on the bay side of the Cape.

The lighthouse at Nauset Light Beach.  The closest ocean side beach to Pop's house.

The Coast Guard Station at Coast Guard Beach,  also ocean side.

The beach roses (rosa rugosa) were still blooming.

Terns following a school of fish at a cove on the bay side.

Salt Pond.  Looking out towards Nauset Marsh.
It was a wonderful week.  Only 50 weeks until we go back.
