We've just gotten home from our annual trip to visit Brian's father at his home on Cape Cod. This year we made a small detour to visit a new friend, Jude Larzerlere, before heading to the Cape. B and I met her in Finland, where she was one of the artists featured in the exhibit at the Oulu Museum of Art. We had some lively discussions, and when we told her that we flew into Providence each fall on our way to the Cape, she invited us to come and visit her in Rhode Island. We did!
Jude has a beautiful home, a spacious studio and a spectacular garden. We had a lovely reunion.
The Cape is one of my favorite places, and I love being there. I especially love the colors: the golds, greens, rusts and blues. I took several marsh pictures, which I plan to use as inspiration for my next Tuning Fork quilt.
First Encounter Beach, near Pop's house on the Bay side:
Rock Harbor, where I took a close up of marsh grasses:
And of course, we spent lots of time with Pop. He has a model train layout in his basement, and Brian and he spent hours running the trains:
And of course, we spent time hanging out on the beaches. The weather was hot, and the beaches were beckoning:
